PPRA, PCMSO e LTCAT: understand the difference and avoid fines

In the daily operations of companies, some documents and programs are essential to maintain employee safety and avoid legal problems. Among the main ones are the PPRA, the PCMSO, and the LTCAT. Although they may seem similar, each has its own specific function.

PPRA (Environmental Risk Prevention Program)

Required by NR-9, it identifies, assesses, and controls physical, chemical, and biological risks in the workplace. It is essential for mapping hazards and adopting preventive measures.

PCMSO (Occupational Health Medical Control Program)

Required by NR-7, this program focuses on worker health. It establishes the conduct of occupational exams (pre-employment, periodic, return-to-work, and dismissal).

LTCAT (Technical Report on Environmental Work Conditions)

Required by social security legislation, this is a document used to verify an employee's exposure to harmful agents and determine whether they are entitled to a special retirement pension.

Keeping these documents up to date ensures legal security, reduces the risk of fines, and demonstrates that the company cares about the well-being of its employees.
